Membership in IPsyNet is open to national, multinational, and international psychology associations.

The process for organizations becoming members of IPsyNet typically involves the following steps:

  1. A member (or two or more) has an interest in their organization becoming part of IPsyNet

  2. They are prepared to initiate an informal or perhaps formal request that the organization become a member

  3. One or two members are ready to be appointed to serve as the organization’s representative(s) to IPsyNet

  4. The secretariat issues a letter of invitation

  5. If the invitation is accepted, the organization is a member

Responsibilities of member organizations

  • Agree to support the mission of IPsyNet

  • Appoint one or two psychologists to represent the organization in IPsyNet

  • Join with other IPsyNet member organizations in collective actions and activities

Responsibilities of member organization representatives

  • Participate in the planning of activities and initiatives, implementing IPsyNet’s mission, and bimonthly conference calls and listserv

  • Help promote IPsyNet and its policy and programming goals within the member organizations and among professional networks

  • To the extent possible, participate in IPsyNet meetings at international conferences
