Building an LGBT-Inclusive Psychology in the Philippines

The Psychological Association of the Philippines is making significant strides to increase its capacity to foster LGBT rights, education, and mental health in that country. Milestone "firsts" highlighted in a new brochure (PDF, 1MB) for the association's LGBT Special Interest Group include the following:

First LGBT-affirming nondiscrimination policy by a policy by a professional mental health organization in Asia: Statement of the Psychological Association of the Philippines on Non-Discrimination based on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression. First peer-reviewed special edition journal.
First formally recognized collective of LGBT psychologists in Southeast Asia.
