Education & Training:

Psychology conferences

Psychology conferences and congresses take place at the local, national and international levels. The International Psychology Network for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues (IPsyNet) has worked since 2005 to increase the level of programming relating to sexual orientation and gender diversity at both member organization conferences and at key regional and international congresses, and to use them as opportunities to hold IPsyNet organizational development meetings.

Where possible, IPsyNet and member organizations have secured indexing terms, or topic listings, related to sexual orientation and gender diversity in proposal submission guidelines so that psychologists wishing to submit related programming would be able to designate it as such.

IPsyNet and member organizations have produced Quick Reference Guides of programming at conferences related to the indexing terms. The guides serve as a helpful resource for attendees at the conferences, but also as an important historical record of the programming and listings of the individual psychologists engaged in particular areas of work related to sexual orientation and gender diversity.
